Ada

Normally, teachers look forward to the weekend for one reason, NO SCHOOL! Of course I feel the same way but my weekends are something more special for me.

So, as I get into my car  to drive 1 hour and 45 minutes to a small town, with three traffic lights, and populated mostly with college students, I look forward to driving into the the village that was home for 4 years of my life. In a way it's like living a double life (in a good way). Ada spirals me back into the place where I grew up, laughed, cried, and made friendships and relationships that would last a lifetime. Then there is Wooster. I walk into a building each morning, Monday through Friday, with 60 seventh grade students counting on me to teach them. I am a grown up. I go to bed early (like before 10 o'clock). I pay bills and earn a paycheck. I take care of myself. It's like I am stuck in the middle. I get to go back to college and be a grown up at the same time.

So why are the weekends special? I still spend time in Ada to spend time with one of the most important people in my life. As Friday approaches, I start to feel myself getting more and more excited to drive to the place that I was so excited to leave in 2009. Ada means that I get to spend the weekend with the guy that I never want to be apart from.

This weekend was relaxing. Friday, we went out with some friends and enjoyed time socializing. (That's what I do best!) Saturday was spent applying for jobs, jobs, and more jobs, for Jonathan of course. It was relaxing and fun looking at the different opportunities that await Jonathan in his job search. We stayed in and cooked for dinner which is healthy and also saves money!!!  :)

Weekends are the things that keep me going right now. I am so blessed to work in a field that allow me to go away for the weekend. I don't know what I would do if I worked weekends. This weekend was another great one!

Although not a huge country fan, every time I hear this song I think of Ada. Anyone who has been there can definitely hear why this would be the case. Enjoy!
